NubianNewYorkers - Taste Is a Skill: Let These New Fashion Shows Sharpen Your Style

Stylish people like to always pay attention to upcoming trends to add to their wardrobe or inspire their own creativity—and that’s exactly where fashion shows quietly shine. Whether you consider yourself deeply immersed in the fashion world or simply someone who enjoys a well-put-together look, fashion shows offer a front-row seat to what’s coming next.

They’re not just for insiders or industry professionals; they’re for anyone who appreciates beauty, innovation, and the confidence that comes from being just a little ahead of the curve.

What makes fashion shows special for audiences is how effortlessly they invite you in. You don’t need a design degree to enjoy them—just curiosity and an eye for detail. Watching a collection unfold on the runway feels like being let in on a creative conversation, one where you can observe, absorb, and take what resonates with your personal style.

Before you dive into the series of fashion show videos from iconic designers and legendary fashion houses below, here are five reasons why fashion shows are such a rewarding experience for audiences.

  1. Early access to upcoming trends
Fashion shows give you a preview of what will soon influence stores, street style, and social media. It’s a subtle advantage—knowing what’s next before it becomes everywhere.

  2. Inspiration without pressure
You’re free to admire bold ideas, dramatic silhouettes, or unexpected combinations, and then interpret them in a way that fits your own lifestyle and creativity.

  3. A masterclass in styling
From layering to accessories, fashion shows demonstrate how complete looks are built, offering practical inspiration you can apply in everyday dressing.

  4. An artistic and cultural experience
Beyond clothing, fashion shows reflect moods, movements, and moments in time, turning each runway into a visual story worth experiencing.

  5. A sense of connection to iconic brands and designers
Watching a collection helps you understand a designer’s vision and values, making fashion feel more personal and meaningful.

With these ideas in mind, the fashion show videos that follow aren’t just something to watch—they’re something to enjoy, interpret, and make your own. Sit back, take notes if you’d like, and let the creativity speak to you.

NubianNewYorkers - Style & Fashion - Dior's amazing Summer And Winter Fashion Shows

The Dior Spring Summer 2024 menswear show, titled “From New Look to New Wave”, featured models rising from the floor. The show celebrated the fifth anniversary of Kim Jones as Artistic Director of Dior.  It was amazing and I just HAD to share it with you.. I find artistry inspirational!

Dior is a French luxury fashion house. The brand is known for its revolutionary "New Look" collection, which was introduced in 1947. The collection featured a cinched waist, full skirts, and rounded shoulders. It revitalized the fashion industry and signaled a cultural shift away from wartime austerity.

STYLE- John Varvatos, ..excellence in style!

John Varvatos was on "King Of All Media" Howard Stern's radio show today.. I loved his interview and I love his clothes. Good taste and great style by a good guy!

check it out...

John Varvatos Fashion House

In late 1999, Varvatos started his company, debuting his first clothing line at the end of 2000 in New York. The brand now includes belts, handbags, footwear, eyewear, watches and fragrances.

In September 2000, within months of showing his first collection, John Varvatos opened a freestanding boutique in Soho. The collection is currently distributed in all John Varvatos boutiques including the 315 Bowery boutique in the space that formerly housed the underground music club CBGB. In addition, the collection is available in select luxury retail stores and specialty boutiques.

In 2001, John Varvatos was licensed to create a line of high-end Converse shoes; a partnership that still continues today.

2009 saw the launch of New York Nights, a monthly radio show hosted by John on SIRIUS XM’s The Spectrum channel. The show includes songs and interviews from various artists who have influenced John throughout his career in fashion.

In 2012, John joined the cast of celebrity mentors on NBC’s Fashion Star, a new reality competition series that searches for the next big brand in fashion.

John Varvatos credits his early obsession with rock ‘n roll as the catalyst for his interest in fashion. The ad campaigns for the main collection, shot by Danny Clinch, have featured such musicians and bands such as Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper, Velvet Revolver, Chris Cornell, Dave Matthews, The Roots and Green Day.

Music is also central to the brand’s philanthropic efforts, including the Save the Music Foundation the annual Stuart House benefit.
